If you think about times when someone has farted in public, you’ll probably come to the conclusion that farting is not as much of problem when there isn’t a strong odor. Nobody wants to feel bad simply because their body works as it was designed to function. While it be great if everyone agreed that farting is normal, even if that happens, most people will still feel embarrassed when it happens in public. Have you ever heard of the French inventor Christian Poincheval? Like many inventors, he is highly regarded by some, yet his name isn’t well known. He’s the guy that actually invented the pill that makes farts smell like different fragrances, such as chocolate, roses and so many other scents. Since we all fart, it’s hard to imagine someone spending time to find a solution to an odiferous problem. While some of us have joked about having farts that smell like perfume, nobody actually thought it would be a reality, except for Poincheval.
The desire to create a pill for farts actually started when eating a meal with friends and someone farted in a way that disturbed everyone in the room. He realized that you can sometimes disguise the sound of a fart, but it’s impossible to disguise the smell. Poincheval wanted to eliminate the issue of destroying an atmosphere simply by emanating an oder from one’s body, and he was determined to make it happen. He did exactly what inventors do in this scenario: found a solution to the problem. Since he didn’t really have a problem with the sound of farting, he chose to address the stench.

Poincheval spoke of being able to silently pass gas while at a dinner table without becoming a nuisance or being harshly judged by others in the room. However, he does acknowledge that it’s still prudent to avoid farting in public when possible, even when the farts smell good.
Christian Poincheval’s Background
Poincheval was an inventor well before he created the fart pill. He also created toilet paper that’s printable. While working on his invention, he ran into some roadblocks because of various ingredients that were initially used and ended up having unwanted side effects. This included the use of estrogen and mint, which were problematic. As with other inventions, Poincheval engaged in a long process of trial and error before finding a product that worked. After the first pill was created, subsequent pills have been released and they have gained recognition. For instance, there was a ginger pill released in 2015 and a lilly of the valley pill was released last year.
How Does The Fart Pill Work?
The fart pill works by creating an aroma in your digestive system. The dosage required will depend on the individual and the types of foods they eat. Some foods require a higher dosage than others because they create stronger odor. Generally, the dosage is between two and six pills taken daily with water during meals. Many customers have communicated their gratitude for the fart pill and for Poincheval’s ingenuity in creating it.
Gone are the days when you’re embarrassed because you have a problem with flatulence and no solution. While you will probably continue to fart, now you don’t have to feel judged because of the odor.
